Four Avenues of Service - Community Service

One of our most longstanding activities is that of delivering Meals on Wheels through Independent Living, every Wednesday, year round, for many years. Each and every week, 3 to 4 members pick up the hot and cold meals from one of several centralized locations and deliver them in the late afternoon to typically between 4 and 8 households.

In the past, we have also sponsored and hosted over many years, an annual rooftop picnic for the patients of the UW Children's Hospital (see our Photo Album). In addition,we have sold beverage tokens at the formerly annual Madison Blues Festival, worked construction with Habitat for Humanity, donated blood through the American Red Cross, helped to park cars as volunteers at the Opera in the Park, and many other activities.
